Microsoft has put together a promotion that offers $100 towards an Xbox One when people ditch their Sony PlayStation 3. The trade-in deal is only available at Microsoft’s retail stores in the U.S. The deal applies to the Xbox 360 S and Xbox 360 E. The Xbox One price is brought down to $399, which is the same as the PS4.

Sony Corporation has announced that they have sold more than 80 million PlayStation 3 consoles. Over the last 7 years, Sony has designed multiple forms of the PlayStation 3. The 80 million milestone is the combined number between all of the types of the console. The PlayStation 4, the successor of the PlayStation 3, will be arriving in slightly over a week.
Sony Corporation has released a blue PlayStation 3 console exclusively for GameStop. The blue PS3 will be available up until November 15th. In the past, the blue console was available only in Japan. The blue console at GameStop has a 250GB hard drive, one DualShock 3 controller, and a price of $249.99. Pre-orders started yesterday. The 250GB hard drive can hold over 1,800 games, 99,000 songs, 40,000 photos, or a mix of all of that. You can also buy the blue PS3 from EB Games if you are in Canada.
Sony Corporation is now selling the 12GB PlayStation 3 at their U.S. online store. Sony is also selling the 12GB PlayStation 3 at Walmart and Future Shop in Canada. The 12GB PlayStation 3 was originally expected to be released in Europe and Hong Kong. The retail price is only $200 for the 12GB PlayStation 3. As of right now, it is out of stock and the estimated ship date is not available on the U.S. Sony store.
Sony has updated the PlayStation 3 to version 4.00 ahead of the release of the PlayStation Vita. Through 4.00, PlayStation 3 users will be able to share music, video, and photos. Sony Corporation (NYSE:SNE) has announced the PlayStation 3 MOVE controller has sold 2.5 million units in 30 days. About 1 million were sold in the U.S. and 1.5 million were sold in Europe. The controller sells for $50. “We had to go back and increase production twice, we’re absolutely maxed out right now,” said Sony Computer Entertainment of America president and CEO Jack Tretton. Sony and Nintendo have both released the numbers of their console sales over the Thanksgiving weekend and they are big! The Sony PlayStation 3 sold 440,000 units in the U.S. for the week ending November 29th. Nintendo announced that they sold over 1 million DS and DSi handheld console units. And the Nintendo Wii sold over 500,000 units for the week ending November 28th. Microsoft’s statement was that they sold twice as many 360 consoles during Thanksgiving week compared to the week before.
