Turntable.fm Raises $7.5 Million from USV
Betabeat reports that the rapidly-popular music service Turntable.fm has found an investor in Union Square Ventures. The company is reported to have raised about $7.5 million, having chosen an investment from Union Square-based USV instead of the west coast’s Kleiner Perkins or Accel. It’s possible that other investors from the founders’ other startup Stickybits may join in the funding, including First Round Capital, Lowercase, Polaris, Chris Sacca and Mitch Kapor.
Kim Kardashian’s Internet Apparel Company ShoeDazzle Raises $40 Million From Andreessen Horowitz, LightSpeed, and Polaris
ShoeDazzle is a subscription based e-commerce company that was founded by Brian Lee and Kim Kardashian. ShoeDazzle recently raised $40 million from several Silicon Valley investor companies that include Andreessen Horowitz, Polaris Venture Partners, and LightSpeed Venture Partners. Andreessen Horowitz led the round with $30 million and general partner John O’Farrell will join the ShoeDazzle board.

Ocular Therapeutix Raises $14 Million In Series D
Ocular Therapeutix is a company that has raised $14 million in Series D funding. This round of funding was led by Ascension Health Ventures with participation from Polaris Ventures, SV Life Sciences, and Versant Ventures. This round of funding will be used to support Ocular Therapeutix’s Phase II clinical trials of punctum plugs that are designed for managing dry eye, glaucoma, and allergies.
