Pop star sensation Lady Gaga unveiled a new line of sunglasses that have the ability to take pictures and video. The GL20 has two screens on them that face outward. These sunglasses are part of Polaroid’s Grey Label line of products. Everything registers into the USB, which is an ear piece. You can send the photos to a wireless printer called the GL10 using Bluetooth. The GL10 will be available in May and will cost $149. The GL30 instant camera is an update to the type of camera that Polaroid is famous for: take a picture and out pops a print-out. You can transfer photos taken from the GL10 back to your computer. TweetPhoto Rejected From iTunes Because Logo Looks Like A Polaroid Snapshot

TweetPhoto is a company that competes with TwitPic.  The developers of TweetPhoto were waiting to get approved on the Apple App Store for about 4 weeks before they were rejected.  The reason why they were rejected is quite bizarre.  Apparently TweetPhoto’s logo has an icon that resembles a snapshot taken from those old school Polaroid cameras.

While I think this was a lame reason to get rejected, it does not surprise me.  This story reminds me of when PocketGod was rejected for using an icon that resembled an iPhone.

“We’ve reviewed TweetPhoto and determined that we cannot post your application because it appears to include features that resemble Polaroid photographs. Polaroid has previously objected to other applications that include features that resemble Polaroid photographs, and believes that such features infringe its rights,” wrote Apple in a message to TweetPhoto.

TweetPhoto pointed out that an application called Polarize actually uses a Polaroid photo as their icon.  Polarize even gives photos taken on the iPhone a “Polaroid look.”

Its possible that Polarize slipped through the cracks and TweetPhoto was reviewed by someone that is uptight.  I believe Apple should reconsider rejecting TweetPhoto.

The Polaroid PoGo Instant Digital Camera will be arriving sometime this month.  The camera is 5 megapixel, but it has no optical zoom.  What this camera has that many others do not have is a built-in printer.  The LCD is a 3″ color screen.  The memory is SD compatible and it takes about 60 seconds to print.

The paper is heat-activated and is called Zink (zero ink).  The paper is smudge-proof, tear-proof, water-resistant, and fade-resistant.  The PoGo is available on Amazon.com for $199.95.  Extra sheets of Zink paper cost $12.99 for a 30 pack.
