RealNetworks Inc (NASDAQ:RNWK) has reported their second quarter financials.  The company has reported a loss of $18.5 million for Q2 and they reported a revenue decline as well.  RealNetworks Rob Glaser joined the company as the interim CEO over a year ago.

RealNetworks Acquires Slingo For $15.6 Million

Slingo
RealNetworks has acquired social casino game company Slingo for $15.6 million.  Slingo will be rolled into RealNetworks’ GameHouse casual gaming division.  It is unknown what will happen with Zynga’s partnership with Slingo for the Slingo game on Facebook.  Slingo runs games on Slingo.com as well.  Slingo and Zynga’s game on Facebook currently has 4.5 million monthly players.  Launched in 1995, Slingo is owned by Sal Falciglia.

HasOffers Raises $9.4 Million In Series A

 is a company that has raised $9.4 million in Series A funding led by Accel Partners.  Additional investors include Rob Glaser (RealNetworks founder) and Chris DeVore (Founder’s Co-op).  Based in Seattle, HasOffers was started by twin brothers Lucas Brown and Lee Brown in 2009.  The company currently has 79 employees and has been bootstrapping up until now.  Rich Wong of Accel Partners is joining HasOffers’ board of directors.

Tuition.io Raises $1 Million With $250 Million Under Management

The outstanding national student loan debt is high in America at over $1 trillion.  Around $864 billion of that amount is backed by the federal government.  A majority of these loans have an interest rate that is higher than 6%.  Formerly known as Binksty, Tuition.io wants to help college students by help with student loans.
