Smartphone manufacturer HTC acquired all outstanding shares of visualization tech company S3 Graphics for $300 million. HTC will take control of S3 Graphics’ team and intellectual properties. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has filed a patent infringement lawsuit against two companies called S3 Graphics Inc. S3 Graphics is a Cayman Islands Corporation and there is another S3 Graphics Inc. company registered in Delaware. Apple filed the lawsuit at the Northern District of California. The summons letter was dated on January 13, 2011. The patent in question is not yet known. S3 is headquartered in Fremont, California.
