In October 2010, Drop.io announced that they have been acquired by Facebook. Apparently Facebook bought “most of Drop.io’s technology and assets.” They also hired former Drop.io CEO Sam Lessin. Facebook has acquired Drop.io, a New York based start-up company that lets users share files through a drag-and-drop interface. Drop.io founder Sam Lessin will be joining Facebook full-time.
