Verizon Wireless To Sell The Samsung Zeal Starting November 11

Verizon Wireless will be selling the Samsung Zeal starting November 11th. The phone is a dual-hinge with an e-ink keypad that toggles between a full QWERTY keyboard in landscape and a numeric keypad in portrait. The phone also has Skype Mobile, VZ Navigator, and a media center for downloading ringtones/games/wallpapers. The camera is 2 megapixel and there is a personal organizer with alarm clock and calendar. The phone will cost $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and a 2 year contract agreement. [ZDNet]
Samsung Continuum Hitting Verizon Soon

The Samsung Continuum is arriving on Verizon very soon according to advertising materials. The Continuum is one of the Galaxy S Android smartphones that has an extra AMOLED display bar below the touch screen. Google Nexus Two Has A Front-Facing Camera

The Google Nexus Two mobile phone is being made by Samsung and it can record video with a front-facing camera. “When I first saw it from 10 feet away, I thought it was the Galaxy S,” said a source with Gizmodo. “I was a little surprised it was the Nexus Two.”

Verizon Wireless Announces 3G Network Extender Device For $249.99

If you have Verizon and are constantly in an area where your 3G coverage sucks, you now have the option to drop $250 to buy a 3G Network Extender. The Extender is manufactured by Samsung and allows Verizon customers to download apps, send SMS/text messages, make calls, send e-mails, stream videos, and play 3D games using a home Internet connection. Samsung Freeform II (SCH-r360) Now Available At MetroPCS

Microsoft Announces 10 Windows Phone 7 Devices Across 30 Countries

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) hosted an event in New York City today to announce new smartphones powered by the Windows Phone 7 operating system. There will be 9 new WP7 smartphones heading to Europe and Asia on October 21st. U.S. consumers will be getting their hands on WP7 devices in early November, just-in-time for the holiday season.

About 5 Million Samsung Galaxy S Smartphone Devices Have Been Sold

Samsung has announced that they have sold 5 million Samsung Galaxy S branded devices since launching back in June. “The GALAXY S has been a phenomenal success in the global smart phone market, recording global sales of over 5 million units including more than 2 million units in the United States and more than 1 million units in Korea,” said Samsung in a press release. Samsung P2770FH LCD Has An Impressive Response Time

Samsung Electronics has designed a new LCD called the Samsung P2770FH that has a 1ms response time. The P2770FH LCD has a 27-inch that has a full HD 1,920×1,080 resolution. Other specs include 70,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, enriched color gamut and 170°/160° viewing angles. The P2770FH also has HDMI, VGA, and DVI inputs. Samsung Ends Support For Symbian

Samsung has sent out an e-mail to registered developers that they will be closing the Symbian forums and will be removing all Symbian content by the end of the year. Samsung has been busy working on their Bada operating system to replace Symbian. Symbian is one of Nokia’s mobile open source operating systems for mobile devices and smartphones. According to a Gartner report from 2009, Symbian accounted for about 46.9% of smartphone sales. [Engadget]
Samsung Bada Announces 10 Million App Downloads

The Samsung Wave runs on the Bada operating system and it has hit 1 million sales. During the one-year anniversary, Samsung Electronics announced that the number of Samsung Apps downloads for the Bada operating system surpassed the 10 million mark.
