AT&T has dropped the cost of the LG Quantum and the Samsung Focus to $99.99 on a two-year contract. Both phones have the Windows 7 Phone operating system on them. The LG Quantum has a QWERTY keyboard, 3.5″ screen, 16GB of storage, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel camera, and 720p video camera. The Focus has a 4″ Super AMOLED screen with WVGA resolution, 5 megapixel camera, 8GB of storage, and is 0.35″ thick. When the phones first launched, it costed $199. [Engadget]

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) hosted an event in New York City today to announce new smartphones powered by the Windows Phone 7 operating system. There will be 9 new WP7 smartphones heading to Europe and Asia on October 21st. U.S. consumers will be getting their hands on WP7 devices in early November, just-in-time for the holiday season.
