Samsung Gives Galaxy S II Some Weird Names In The U.S.:AT&T Attain, Verizon Function, and Sprint Within
According to a leaked screenshot by an employee at Wireless Xcessories Group, Samsung has renamed the Galaxy S II for the U.S. launch. The phone will be named the AT&T Attain, the Verizon Function, and the Sprint Within. T-Mobile is left out as they were not listed in the leaked screenshot. [MobileCrunch]
Samsung Galaxy S II Hits Over 3 Million Pre-Orders
In 2010 Samsung sold over 10 million Galaxy S phones. And earlier this week Samsung announced that they have sold over 3 million Galaxy S II pre-orders. The Galaxy S II will be available in 120 countries across 140 moilb eoperators. The Galaxy S II has a dual-core Orion processor clocked at 1.2GHz. Other features include TouchWiz 4.0, Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread), 8 megapixel camera, 1080p HD video recording, and 4.27-inch AMOLED Plus display. [BGR]

Kenton Cool is a British mountain climber that was able to send the first tweet from the top of Mount Everest thanks to a 3G station that Ncell installed there in October 2010. Samsung sponsored Kenton to use the Samsung Galaxy S II to make the first 3G call and tweet from the summit.

Samsung Surpasses 200,000 Galaxy S II Pre-Orders
Samsung has announced that they have received over 200,000 pre-orders of the Galaxy S II across all 3 of the major Korean telecommunications companies between Friday and Monday of last week. Around 160,000 of the pre-orders were made through SK Telecom. In the first 29 minutes, the Galaxy S II hit about 10,000 pre-orders. Samsung is hoping to sell about 10 million of Galaxy S II devices throughout all of 2011. [Electronista]

Samsung Electronics has officially announced the GALAXY S II smartphone. The GALAXY S II has a 4.27-inch 800×480 Super AMOLED Plus display, 8 megapixel rear camera, 1080p video capture, 2 megapixel front camera, Android Gingerbread operating system with TouchWiz 4.0, NFC support, and is 8.49mm thick.
