Apple Announces Management Changes, Scott Forstall Reportedly Forced Out For Not Apologizing Over Maps

Apple iOS software chief Scott Forstall was let go from the company. According to The Wall Street Journal, Mr. Forstall was let go from Apple because he refused to sign a letter apologizing for problems with Apple Maps. Mr. Forstall was known for constantly disagreeing with employees at Apple and “never fit into the culture.” He also had a tendency to show off his close relationship with late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

Scott Forstall Sells $38.7 Million Worth Of Apple Stock

Scott Forstall
On Friday Scott Forstall, the senior vice president of iOS Software at Apple Inc., sold 95% of his company shares. He sold 64,151 shares of Apple stock on Friday, which was worth $38.7 million at the time. Forstall was often considered as a successor to late Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

Square Was Almost Named Squirrel Until Dorsey Talked To Apple

When accepting the award at the 21st Century Visionary award at San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club earlier this week, Jack Dorsey spoke about Twitter and Square. Dorsey is a co-founder at Twitter and founded Square. Dorsey said that the company name Square was almost named “Squirrel” and the card reader dongle was made of wood and shaped like an acorn.
