Today Seesmic Web has improved their web-based Twitter client. Seesmic Web has added a contact manager, threads Twitter conversations, and allows you to drag and drop followers into lists. There is also Tweetmeme stats built into Seesmic’s updated web-based client. Seesmic went from becoming a video commenting service to a TweetDeck competitor in 2009. Seesmic made their service available on the web, BlackBerry, Android, Windows, etc. Earlier this week Seesmic acquired Ping.fm. Ping.fm is a service that updates all of your social networks in one go.

Seesmic started to challenge TweetDeck after they decided to acquired Twhirl. Ping.fm will allow Seesmic to update 50 social networks at once. CEO Loic Le Meur said Seesmic “can now update 50 social networks using Seesmic+Ping.fm from email, chat, sms, Blackberry, Android, web, Windows, OSX and much more soon,”

Seesmic has been downloaded about 3.5 million times. Ping.fm has about 500,000 users. Ping.fm updates about 200,000 status updates per day. Seesmic has a goal to update about 1 million updates per day in 2010.

Seesmic, the video commenting and Twitter platform company founded by Loic Le Meur has developed a new browser that will be debuted at the Real-Time Street CrunchUp event today.  The Seesmic Browser looks very similar to GMail when it comes to the user interface and has support for Twitter.

At the top of the browser is a messages button to read direct messages that you have been sent.  Next to that is an text field for users to update their status.  And then there is a search engine next to the text field for finding tweets.

Although the Seesmic Browser currently only supports Twitter, Facebook integration will be added to the browser soon.  Different columns in the browser represents different functions.  For example, one column may have direct messages, another column will have replies sent, and another column will have the ability to message or follow/unfollow a user.
