TomTom has released a viral video featuring Sesame Street pals Bert and Ernie. The two are in a sound studio recording their GPS voice-overs. This is definitely one of the better TomTom commercials I have ever seen.
Public broadcasting services like PBS and NPR are in danger of going offline. That means no more Sesame Street or All Things Considered. On Saturday February 19th, the House of Representatives voted 235-189 for a continuing resolution that would eliminate funding for public broadcasting. Below is an infographic on why PBS is worth saving.
Sesame Street has been on a streak for making viral videos. We have seen Sesame Street parody the Old Spice guy and then they made a song called “There’s An App For That.” Now Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster has made a viral video in the form of a Saturday Night Live audition tape. Check out the video below:
Sesame Street has done a song called “There’s an app for that.” Apparently the apps for the iPogo in Sesame Street can comb your cat, fix a flat bike tire, rhyme words with gnat, serve as a place to hang your hat, chat with a chimp, cut butter, play the drums, sing scat, meet a boy named Matt, and count to 10 quickly. Check out the video below:
Sesame Street’s Grover has done a parody of the Old Spice guy Isaiah Mustafa. Watch as Grover challenges you to “smell like a Monster.” Check out the Sesame Street video below and the original Old Spice video below that:
Lady Gaga is the first musician to hit one billion views on YouTube and she has a deep connection with her fans. There are many parodies of Lady Gaga music videos and almost all of them are entertaining. One of the best mash-ups I’ve seen today is the song “Telephone” mashed up with Sesame Street. Check out the video above. The video currently has over 25,000 views on YouTube.
Sesame Street does a very good job of staying current. I remember as I was growing up, Sesame Street attempted to find ways to keep the audience appealed even as they were growing. When I was kid I remember just caring about learning how to count with The Count and how to control greed with Cookie Monster. As I grew up and became more into sports, I noticed that David Robinson was in an episode of Sesame Street and taught Big Bird how to tie his shoe.
Now Sesame Street is taking a page out of Apple’s book by using an iPod-inspired video to encourage people to dance. Apple takes their marketing very seriously so I would not be surprised if this video clip had to clear the company’s legal department.
Jimmy Kimmel made a Sesame Street spoof where Ernie and Cookie Monster explained the Bernie Madoff scheme back in March and it went viral on YouTube, reaching nearly one million views.
Bernie Madoff is a former chairman of NASDAQ and became known as the man responsible behind the largest investor fraud even committed by a single person. Madoff fabricated his gains of almost $65 billion through a Ponzi scheme. For those of you that want to know what he did in easier terms, I’ll leave it to Sesame Street to explain.
