Sling Media has announced a new app for Honeycomb (3.0) tablets that costs $29.99. This is the same cost that Sling Media charges for their mobile applications. The application allows Slingbox owners to watch home TV from their Android tablets. The Slingbox retails for over $180.

SlingPlayer For iPad Will Run You $30

The SlingPlayer iPad application is now available on the Apple App Store for $30. Unfortunately if you bought it for the iPhone, you won’t be able to get the iPad version for free. This is unless you want to use the iPhone version scaled up to fit the larger display on the iPad. [UberGizmo]

Slingbox owners that have Android phones can now download the SlingPlayer application on the Android Market. The application can be bought for $29.99 and can be used on 3G, 4G, and WiFi. The SlingPlayer app works across multiple countries. [Slingbox Android page via BGR]
SlingPlayer To Arrive On iPhone Tomorrow For $30 Without 3G

SlingPlayer has been given the green light to arrive on the iPhone tomorrow (Wednesday May 13, 2009). However 3G access for the player has been disabled so it will only work on WiFi. Clearly AT&T or Apple has an issue with massive bandwidth consumption.
According to Engadget, the app works is good on WiFi but still tends to lag. When in the letterbox mode, there are black bars around the four sides of the image. The application should be available after 12AM tonight. The cost of the application is roughly $30.
