LG Files Complaint With ITC Against Sony

LG Electronics has filed a complaint against Sony with the International Trade Commission. The complaint is about patent infringement. LG filed the complaint on February 4th and accused Sony’s Bravia and PlayStation 3 of infringing on their patent. LG referred to 8 separate patents. Along with the ITC filing, there will be a federal court case. [Bloomberg]
Twitter User Travis La Marr Fools Sony’s Kevin Butler Account Into Retweeting PS3 Jailbreak Code

Yesterday I wrote about how Sony is threatening to sue anyone who posts the jailbreak code for the PlayStation 3. Travis La Marr (@exiva) fooled Kevin Butler, a marketing character used by Sony to play the Vice President of various departments of PlayStation to retweet the jailbreak code. Sony Threatening To Sue Anyone Who Posts Jailbreak Code For PS3

Sony Corporation is threatening to sue anybody that posts the jailbreak code of the PlayStation 3 gaming console. Sony is demanding that a federal judge orders Google to surrender the IP addresses of those who viewed or commented about the jailbreak on a private YouTube video. Sony also wants Twitter to provide the identities of the a host of hackers that announced a limited version of the hack in December. Sony filed a lawsuit against 21 year old New Jersey hacker George Hotz. Hotz published the PlayStation 3 code and a how-to video last month. “The discovery they call for in my opinion is overbroad,” stated Hotz’s attorney Stewart Kellar. [Wired]
Sony VAIO YB Has AMD Fusion, Comes In Silver and Pink Colors

Sony has announced a new laptop in the VAIO YB series. THe Sony VAIO sports a 1.6GHz AMD Fusion processor, 4GB of RAM, 500GB of hard drive space, 11.6-inch glossy screen, 1366×768 resolution, and 6 hour battery life for $599.99. The laptop can be bought in silver and pink colors. [Engadget]
The PlayStation Phone, Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, Gets Previewed [VIDEO]
Engadget.com has gotten their hands on the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play phone, also known as the PlayStation phone. The phone uses a Qualcomm MSM8655 chipset, 512MB of RAM, 5 megapixel camera on the back with LED flash, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR, and FM receiver. Underneath the screen is a gamepad to make playing games easy. There is also four Android soft keys below the screen (back/home/menu/search). Check out the full demo in the video above.
Sony CLM-V55 Video Monitor Can Clip On To DSLR Cameras

Sony will be selling a 5-inch clip-out preview display called the CLM-V55 LCD video monitor in March 2011. This way DSLR videographers can see their footage in a higher resolution. The 800×480 panel has a tilt/swivel mount that can fit as an auto-lock accessory shoe. The screen is powered either by an independent battery or an AC adapter. There is also a pixel magnification mode that offers an enlarged view of a select portion in the full HD image. There is also an adjustable aspect ratio (16:9/4:3), volume, brightness, contrast, color tone, color temp, and auto dimmer.
Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX10 Is A Waterproof 3D Camera

The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-TX10 is a waterproof and rugged 3D camera. It is a 16 megapixel camera that has a 3-inch touch screen. Other specs include full HD video capture at 50i in 1080 AVCHD, ‘Dual Rec’ mode, Exmor R CMOS sensor, and SDHC card slot. It is also dust-proof, freeze-proof, and shock-proof. The Sony Bravia HX820 Has A Local Dimming For Enhancing Energy Efficiency

The Sony Bravia HX820 3D LED TV was revealed at CES in the last week. The HX820 is expected to launch in the next 2-5 months. The HX820 has a full HD 1080p video quality in 2D and 3D. Sony BDP-SX1000 Is The Company’s First Portable Blu-ray Player

The Sony BDP-SX1000 is the the Japanese company’s first portable Blu-ray player and it has a 10.1-inch screen. The battery life on the BDP-SX1000 is 5 hours. The screen on the SX1000 has a WSVGA native resolution and USB port. The BDP-SX1000 will be available for $300 this spring. [CNET]
