Friendless South Park Character Kip Drordy Has Over 150,000 Facebook Fans

Recently South Park had a Facebook themed episode that featured a friendless character named Kip Drordy. He was also considered to be lame because his Facebook status updates were usually mundane, such as “There was a bee in my room.” In real life Drordy is friendless no more. Now he has over 150,000 Fans on Facebook in real life. Drordy’s Facebook Fan page was created by a South Park fan in North Carolina. [Facebook Fan Page]

South Park Parodies Facebook and Jim Cramer In One Go [VIDEO]
TV show South Park recently made a parody of Facebook and Jim Cramer at the same time. In this case Eric Cartman related Facebook friends to stocks. Apparently if you have Kyle Broflovski as your friend, your stock will go down. Check out the video below: [AllThingsD]
Eric Cartman, Kenny, Kyle Poker Face REMIX Hits 1 Million YouTube Views [Video]
What do you get when you mash-up South Park and Lady Gaga? YouTube GOLD! On November 2, phr00ta uploaded a mash-up of the ‘Whale Whores’ South Park episode and remixed it with the Lady Gaga song Poker Face. The mash-up video has hit over 1 million YouTube views as of today. Why hasn’t Viacom removed it for copyright reasons? Perhaps phr00ta acknowledged that the copyright belongs to Lady Gaga and South Park Studios
South Park Spoofs Leprechaun in Mobile, Alabama Video
WARNING: Foul Language
Earlier this week, Comedy Central’s South Park decided to use a viral video on YouTube to add to a joke on the show. South Park was making fun of the Leprechaun in Mobile, Alabama video that has about 9.5 million views on YouTube. This video was also quite popular on EBaumsWorld.com before hitting YouTube.
I have to admit that South Park did a good job mocking this viral video, but I liked Stewie from Family Guy stomping on grapes better.
South Park Application Declined By Apple
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has decided to reject a South Park application that allows users to watch clips from the show. Apple believed that South Park’s content was “potentially offensive.” Oddly enough, iTunes sells episodes, full seasons, and the South Park movie. How could the show not be offensive, but an application be offensive? Perhaps its the walled garden that Apple has around their precious App Store. After all South Park isn’t the only application that has been turned down by Apple.
“We first announced our iPhone App back in October, after we submitted the Application to Apple for approval. After a couple of attempts to get the application approved, we are sad to say that our app has been rejected. According to Apple, the content was “potentially offensive.” But Apple did admit that the standards would evolve, citing that when iTunes first launched it didn’t sell any music with explicit lyrics. At this point, we are sad to say, the app is dead in the water. Sorry, South Park fans,” wrote a South Park exec in an e-mail to BoingBoing.
Apple has also turned down an ebook with swear words, a tethering application, and an app that costs $999 that has a picture of a diamond. Wobble Wobble Bikini Fun had to change around their name to not mention the word “boobs” anywhere. Perhaps we’ll soon start seeing an age 17+ category for apps within iTunes. Turning down a mainstream company from submitting applications is definetely not in Apple’s interest.
