Shawna Redden Tweets Pictures From Southwest Airlines Flight 812 That Made Emergency Landing
Shawna Redden was on Southwest Airlines flight 812 this past weekend. On that plane, a 6 foot hole ripped out from the top for some reason. The hole opened five rows behind when Redden was sitting. Shawna said that the cabin pressure loss was “hands down the scariest experience of my life.” She wrote about the experience on her Twitter account @BluestMuse. She also took pictures and posted them on TwitPic. Air masks were dropped from the overhead compartments and the pilot made an emergency landing in Yuma, Arizona.

Treasure Valley Resident Russell Miller Arrested For Punching Teenager That Didn’t Turn Off His iPhone On A Plane
On a Southwest flight from Las Vegas to Boise, there was a scuffle between a 15 year old and a 68 year old Treasure Valley resident named Russell Miller. Miller had punched the unnamed teenager after he failed to respond to a message from the airplane P.A. system that it was time to turn off electronic devices. The teenager was listening to music and playing a game on his iPhone. Miller punched the boy in the arm hard enough to leave a mark. After hearing about the punch, pilots used the radio to call the air traffic control tower and request local police to be at the gate. Miller was charged with a count of misdemeanor battery. There is now Wi-Fi service on about one-third of all passenger planes. However many travelers still believe Wi-Fi on planes is expensive. On some planes, it could cost about $13 for about three hours of service.
