Sprint Rumored To Offer Unlimited Data Plan For New iPhone

Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) is expected to start offering the iPhone next month with an unlimited data service plan. Sprint plans to start selling the iPhone in mid-October through a deal with Apple. Sprint would become the only carrier that would offer the iPhone with unlimited data services going forward.

Sprint Rumored To Be Increasing ETFs To $350 On September 9th

Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) is rumored to be increasing early termination fees for canceling a contract to $350 from $200 starting September 9th. These changes will be applied towards tablets, netbooks, and notebooks. Good news for the loyal Sprint customers. Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) will start selling the new version of the iPhone in mid-October according to sources with The Wall Street Journal. The new iPhone is expected to be called the iPhone 5. This could help Sprint retain their customer base and may help AT&T win regulatory approval for the acquisition of T-Mobile.

Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) has added the ability to charge Android Market applications to your Sprint bill. An AndroidCentral source sent them the above screenshot that says “Bill my Sprint account.” The carrier billing will be fully available on 4/14/11.
Sprint Declares Opposition Against AT&T’s Acquisition Of T-Mobile

Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) has sent out a press release today explaining their opinion on AT&T’s $39 billion acquisition of T-Mobile. Sprint said that the transaction still requires approval from the Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission.

Verizon Wireless CEO Says They Have No Interest In Acquiring Sprint

Verizon Wireless CEO Daniel Mead said that he would not oppose AT&T’s plan to acquire T-Mobile USA for $39 billion. He also said that Verizon Wireless does not have any interest in buying Sprint Nextel Corporation. “We’re not interested in Sprint. We don’t need them,” stated Mead at the CTIA Wireless Conference. Sprint Announces Google Voice and Nexus S 4G Availability

Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) has announced the availability of the Nexus S 4G phone on their network. The Nexus S 4G is part of the Nexus line of products. Google worked closely with Samsung to to build the phone. The Nexus S 4G has a 4″ Contour Display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, front and rear facing cameras, 16GB of internal memory, and NFC (near field communication) hardware. Sprint also announced that Sprint customers will soon be able to use Google Voice without charging or porting their number. The Nexus S 4G can be purchased this sprint online or in stores. Clearwire Chair Craig McCaw Steps Down

Clearwire Corporation (NASDAQ:CLWR) Chairman Craig McCaw has stepped down from his position late last week. McCaw, 61, was one of the pioneers of mobile phone technology. Clearwire is struggling to build high-speed wireless 4G networks across the U.S. according to Bloomberg.

Sprint To Save Up Around $11 Billion By Getting Rid of iDen

Sprint Next Corporation (NYSE:S) will save up to $11 billion in the next 7 years by restructuring the network. Eventually Sprint will get rid of the iDen network that they acquired from Nextel in 2005. Sprint acquired Nextel for $35 billion in December 2004.
