Nokia Is Now The Top Windows Phone Vendor
Even though Nokia was one of the last manufacturing companies to embrace Windows Phones, they took less than one quarter to become the top Windows Phone vendor in the world. Strategy Analytics released a report today placing Nokia on top of the list of Windows Phone vendors in the fourth quarter of 2011. Nokia shipped two models in the fourth quarter, the Lumia 800 and the Lumia 710 and together they managed to sell 900,000 units. Nokia will be unveiling at least two new Windows Phone devices during the MWC trade show in Barcelona, Spain.

Android Hits 39% Market Share For Tablets
Research firm Strategy Analytics has reported this morning that Android now has a 39% tablet OS market share as of the fourth quarter 2011. Apple still has the lead at 58% market share in Q4 2011, but they are down from 68% in the fourth quarter of 2010. However these numbers are based on “sell-in” rather than over-the-counter sales. What this means is that the numbers include Android tablets may still sit on retail shelves and never be bought. The Amazon Kindle Fire was also included in the Android market share numbers. Apple iPad Has A 95% Share In The Tablet Market
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has increased their tablet computers market share to 95% in the third quarter. According to Strategy Analytics, the Google Android operating system market share slipped.
