Earlier this week T-Mobile revealed the specifications of the T-Mobile G2. The G2 is the first HSPA+ smartphone and will be running on Android 2.2 with Flash Player 10.1 support with Voice Actions. The G2 has a 3.7″ capacitive touch screen with a slide out QWERTY keyboard. The processor is a Qualcomm 800MHz Snapdragon MSM7230 with longer battery life optimization. The camera is 5 megapixel with an LED flash and HD video capture. Internal memory runs at 4GB memory and there is a preinstalled 8GB microSD card. Swype technology is built in and there is a 3.5mm headphone jack. Pricing and availability is not yet known. Pre-orders will start in the next few weeks and will start with existing T-Mobile customers. [CNET]

T-Mobile, Google, and HTC are all working together on the T-Mobile G2. This is the first phone that will be built on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network. The HSPA+ network brings 4G-like speeds to T-Mobile’s 3G network. The T-Mobile G2 website currently has a sign-up for for receiving G2 information. The new phone is expected to be released in the next few weeks.
