According to Microsoft Windows CFO Tami Reller, the company will support the most popular apps in the Apple App Store within their own app store. However, Microsoft believes that the actual Apple iTunes software is not coming anytime soon. There are now over 60,000 apps in the Windows Store with about 250 million downloads.
Tami Reller of Microsoft has announced that Windows 8 Release to Manufacturing (RTM) will be released in the first week of August. Retail stores will start selling Windows 8 in October. The announcement was made at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Toronto. Reller said that the company is “on track” to releasing the final copy of Windows 8 in early August.
Microsoft Corporation is planning to restructure their marketing operations, which may lead to hundreds of job cuts. The plans may be shifted according to sources with Bloomberg. When the marketing operations shift, overlaps in job responsibilities are expected to be eliminated.
