General Motors Renews Detroit Tigers Fountain Sponsorship

General Motors has resumed a deal to sponsor the center field fountain at Comerica Park. General Motors had been sponsoring the fountain since 2001, but was unable to renew the sponsorship last year due to bankruptcy.
General Motors did not say how much they are spending to renew the fountain sponsorship. Recently GM had to cancel marketing deals with PGA golfer Tiger Woods, documentary moviemaker Ken Burns, the Academy Awards, and the Super Bowl.
Detroit Tigers owner Mike Ilitch kept the GM name on the fountain and also added Ford and Chrysler to show support for the three car companies. He could have made $1.5-$2 million for it, but kept the names on there anyway. Ilitch is the founder and owner of Little Caesars Pizza. [Detroit News]

The Tiger Woods Economy [INFOGRAPHIC]
Tiger Woods is back in the PGA this week, only 5 months after he was in the middle of one the biggest scandals. On November 25, 2009 The National Enquirer reported that Woods was having an affair with nightclub manager Rachel Uchitel. A day and a half later, Woods was in a car accident. Over a dozen of Woods’ mistresses started telling their story of their involvement with the golf player. This affected his sponsorship with companies such as AT&T, Gatorade, and Gillette. Now Tiger Woods is back and is changing the way that the golf economy works as a result. Below is an infographic created by Mint.com regarding The Tiger Woods Economy.

Accenture will continue to leverage its “High Performance Business” strategy and “High Performance Delivered” positioning in the marketplace. The company will immediately transition to a new advertising campaign, with a major effort scheduled to launch later in 2010.

Some of the text messages that Tiger Woods sent out to one of his eight mistresses Rachel Uchitel has been leaked on the Internet. Judging by the text messages, he sounds like an unhappy married man. Tiger is married to 29 year old former Swedish model Elin Nordegren.
Below are three text messages that Woods wrote:
1. “I know it’s brutal on you that you can’t be with me all the time,” wrote Woods to Uchitel in a text message, according to the New York Daily News. “I get it. It f—–g kills me, too. I finally found someone I connect with.”
2. Woods wrote that Uchitel is is “someone I have never found like this. Not even at home” in another text. And lastly
3. “I want you to lay next to me, lay on me or where ever you want to lay,” said Woods in a text message to Uchitel in a text message on November 9. “Why didn’t we find each other years ago. We wouldn’t be having this conversation.”
At the beginning of the year, Woods will be back in the golf course and get back to his professional life. Here’s a message to all politicians and athletes, if you decide to have an affair, do not leave a digital trail in the form of text messages. First it was former Detroit Kwame Kilpatrick and now it is the Tiger.
AshleyMadison.com Offered $5 Million For Tiger To Be Their Spokesperson

AshleyMadison.com offered Tiger Woods $5 million to be their spokesperson. Clearly this was a publicity stunt by AshleyMadison since they know that Tiger would rather not advocate a service that encourages people to cheat on their partners. The offer would require Tiger Woods to do one ad for AshleyMadison.com per year.
