Khristopher Brooks Gets Fired For Publishing Article On His Tumblr

Khristopher Brooks is currently studying for a master’s degree at New York University. He had lined up a job offer from the Wilmington News Journal until he wrote a post on his Tumblr. Brooks was fired due to “illegal use of the company logo” and for quoting his offer letter.

Tumblr Cleans Up User Interface On New Android App

Tumblr, the blogging platform that has 51 million blogs and reaches 120 million people per month, has updated their Android application. The Android update has a new design and user interface. It also loads faster and speeds up notifications for multiple blogs in one place. This update also comes with Tumblr Radar, which spotlights top posts.

The New York Times Launches Tumblr Blog With Old Photos

The New York Times has launched a new Tumblr blog that is dedicated to old photos. The Tumblr blog is called The Lively Morgue and it launched this past Monday. The photos are in black and white. The blog is called The Lively Morgue because the images are being grabbed from the physical photo “morgue” where millions of pictures are stored in filing cabinets and manila folders.

Blog Service Tumblr Raises $85 Million

Tumblr is a popular blogging service that has raised $85 million in a new round of funding. Tumblr is best known for simple blogging tools to post photos, videos, songs, etc. The investment in this round was led by Greylock Partners. Insight Venture Partners, the Chernin Group, Richard Branson, Spark Capital, Union Square Ventures, and Sequoia Capital also participated in this round.
