Lady Gaga’s Hacked Twitter Account Promises Her Followers An iPad 2

Lady Gaga’s Twitter account was hacked temporarily and she promised her 17 million Twitter followers with an iPad 2. “Monsters, I’m giving away FREE iPad2′s to each one of you in the spirit of the holidays
Go to [bitly link] to receive one!” said the person that hacked her Twitter account. The bit.ly link was connected to a referral ID linked to WebGiftRewardsToday.com. Close to about 7,000 people clicked on that link. Twitter deleted the hacked links and Lady Gaga was able to get control of her Twitter account again. [TechCrunch]
Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal Invests $300 Million Into Twitter

Microblogging service Twitter Inc. has raised $300 million from Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. Alwaleed is the richest Arab businessman and he considers the investment as a “strategic stake.” Alwaleed is the largest individual invest in Citigroup Inc. He is also a major investor in General Motors and Apple Inc. Twitter is in the process of revamping their user interface for their 100 million daily active users. Twitter is expecting to boost their ad revenue by about 86% next year.

Charlie Sheen Accidentally Tweets “310-954-7277 Call Me Bro. C.”

Actor Charlie Sheen had accidentally tweeted his phone number out to his 5 million Twitter followers. Apparently he was trying to just send a direct message to pop singer Justin Bieber. Sheen joined Twitter earlier this year and was eating dinner at French restaurant Guy Savoy in Las Vegas, Nevada last week when he sent out the tweet. “310-954-7277 Call me bro. C,” tweeted Sheen.

Sony BRAVIA Smart TV Now Has YouTube HD, Facebook, and Twitter

Sony has updated the interface of their BRAVIA smart TVs to support social networking and high-definition YouTube videos. The new BRAVIA firmware has support for Facebook galleries, messages, status updates, and links. There is a Twitter ticket that scrolls updates from your followers. YouTube has been on BRAVIA smart TVs, but the update now has HD support.

Moxie Marlinspike is best known for creating cryptography software. Some of his software was made independently and others was for his mobile security startup, Whisper Systems. Whisper Systems has been acquired by Twitter and their team will be hired.

Simon Cowell Creates A Twitter Account And Is Active

Simon Cowell is best known for being a judge on the show American Idol and is a current judge for The Ex-Factor. He joined Twitter yesterday and now has over 250,000 followers. Facebook, Google, Yahoo!, Twitter, AOL, and eBay Oppose Proposed Legislation About Copyright Regulation

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) executive chairman Eric Schmidt has been vocal about proposed legislation regarding online copyright regulation today and said that the PROTECT IP Act in the U.S. Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act in the U.S. House of Representatives would censor the Internet. This bill is intended to combat pirated movies and music and allow copyright holders and law enforcement officials the ability to cut off websites.
