Researchers at the University of Zaragoza have developed a way to control a wheelchair using an EEG cap worn on the head of the handicapped individual. The individual also has to wear a P300 neurophysiological protocol to power the automated navigation. The handicapped person will see a real-time visual of the surroundings in the screen in front and then concentrate on that space on the screen. The wheelchair will then guide the person to that location. A video demo is available after the jump.
That is a pretty innovative concept. Earlier I wrote about how Ben Heck helped make it possible for the handicap to play some Guitar Hero. Keep the ideas coming guys! I’m sure the handicapped appreciate your efforts.
