Ari Emanuel Considers Raising Money From Facebook Fans For New Friday Night Lights Movie

Ari Emanuel On AllThingsD
Ari Emanuel, an American talent agent and co-CEO of William Morris Endeavor (WME), hit the stage at the D: All Things Digital conference. Emanuel is the epitome of Hollywood. He makes his money by consumers purchasing content starring his clients like Larry David and Aaron Sorkin. This means that he dreads Internet piracy, but believes that censoring the Internet through laws like SOPA and PIPA are a terrible idea. While on stage Emanuel contemplated out loud about how using social media to fund some of the content would be a paradigm shift. For example, he got his hands on the new film script for “Friday Night Lights” and though about the possibilities of setting up a crowd-funding initiative through the 1+ million Fans on Facebook for the show. Emanuel is known as being the basis for the character Ari Gold on “Entourage.” On the show, Gold is known for having a short temper and in the video below, you will see the real Ari unleash it on Joshua Topolsky of The Verge when he tried to compare AT&T and Verizon as being the “road” to a house that was robbed. Emanuel told him to sit down and come up with a better example. Check out the video below.

Mossberg has been a reporter and editor at the Wall Street Journal since 1970. In his review of the newest iPad, it appears that he highly recommends it… but not if you are already happy with your iPad 2.

Walt Mossberg Names Apple iPad The Best Reviewed Of The Year

AllThingsD.com co-founder Walt Mossberg has named the Apple iPad the best reviewed device of the year. This does not surprise me because I think Mossberg comes off as a huge Apple fan. He said that Apple has taken a leap “into a new kind of device. There have been many tablets in the past, but not tablets like this that are multi touch control, and have their own body of apps.” Mossberg named high-speed 4G networks in the U.S. as the second best reviewed product for 2010. He named the iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab in a tie for third place. The worst reviewed products are the Dell Streak, Google TV, and the TiVo Premiere. [Mossblog]
