Domain name registration and hosting company GoDaddy.com has been able to avoid a backlash for previously supporting the SOPA bill. Yesterday GoDaddy.com declared their full opposition to SOPA after there was an online uprising call-for-action that declared that December 29th should be “Leave GoDaddy Day.” GoDaddy CEO Warren Adelman issued an apology on Thursday night, which emphasized the company’s new opposition. Yesterday I wrote about how many GoDaddy.com customers would be switching away from the service because of the company’s support of the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA). A post on Reddit went viral that had a call-to-action to make December 29th the day for people to transfer domain names away from GoDaddy.
