Wooga Raises Funding From Holtzbrinck Ventures

Berlin, Germany based Wooga is a company that develops games for social networks.  The company has raised funding from Holtzbrinck Ventures. Holtzbrinck Ventures started in April 2000 and they are the corporate venture company of the publishing group Georg von Holtzbrinck.

The first game that Wooga released on Facebook is called Brain Buddies.  Wooga was founded in January 2009 and launched Brain Buddies five weeks ago.  Brain Buddies has about 2.5 million users.

Holtzbrinck Ventures has also previously invested in StudiVZ, Germany’s largest social network.  StudiVZ is basically a replica of Facebook.
