2013 Ford C-Max Energi Gets An EPA Rating Of A 620-Mile Range

Posted Oct 18, 2012

The 2013 Ford C-Max Energi has received an EPA-rated range of 620 miles.  This is roughly the distance between Detroit and New York, which means you can get there in barely one tank of gas.  Initially Ford was estimating a 550-mile range, but the results are better than they though.

This means that it is better than the Toyota Prius by 80 miles and the Chevy Volt by 240 miles.  The C-Max Energi can drive up to 21 miles on just electricity, which is 6 miles more than the Prius plug-in’s 15-mile electric range.

The Energi has a 141-horsepower, 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder engine with an electric motor for a total output of 195 horsepower.  The 2013 C-Max Energi will be going for sale this fall at a price of $33,745 and tax credit of $3,750, which means the final price will be under $30,000.
