3D Systems Corporation (DDD) Announces Cubify Sculpt Software

3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD) has announced the immediate availability of Cubify Sculpt.  Cubify Sculpt is a virtual clay sculpting tool that can transform 3D modeling from a from a skills-centric experience to a simple sculpting product.  Cubify Sculpt uses 3D Systems’ volumetric CAD engine.  Cubify Sculpt comes with a 14-day free trial and is priced at $129.  It is now available on Cubify.

Cubify Sculpt has a feature set that includes embossing with textures that can add color with paint for full color 3D printing and has push-and-pull tools to sculpt in virtual clay with accurate symmetry settings for designing organic shapes.  There is a mash up feature built in Cubify Sculpt that allows users to import multiple designs to create bigger and complex objects.

“Cubify Sculpt shifts the 3D modeling tools paradigm making design for instant 3D printing something everyone can do,” stated 3D Systems’ Vice President General Manager Consumer Products for 3D Systems Rajeev Kulkarni, “Our new virtual sculpting experience sets the stage for mainstream users to create and make everyday useful and impactful printables.”

The Cubify Sculpt designs are 3D print-ready to use at home or at the office using materials like the Cubify Ceramix and Cubify Colorstone.  Cubify Sculpt also supports STL, OBJ, and PLY files.  3D Systems will be integrating Cubify Sculpt into their Cubify platform and Cube/CubeX 3D printers using direct plugins.
