Apple Inc. has about $82 billion in cash sitting around. The company is not really known for acquiring a lot of companies like Google or Microsoft so it is not surprising that they have this kind of capital sitting in their savings accounts. It turns out that $54 billion out of their $82 is sitting has been invested into offshore accounts. The U.S. government imposes a 35% U.S. corporate tax on companies, which causes companies to look into offshore accounts. This is according to data from Apple’s 10K documents filed with the SEC.
