Posted Oct 31, 2013

Accenture Plc (NYSE:ACN) has acquired a product lifecycle management company called PCO Innovation.  PCO is a leading international consulting and systems integration company that specializes in the product lifecycle management (PLM) software technologies.  This acquisition will strengthen Accenture’s ability to help their clients organize and develop new products and services throughout their lifecycle.

PCO Innovation is known for offering PLM strategy and process consultancy, system implementation, data migration, and application management.

“Our clients are shifting to global operating models and the complexity of their products and services is increasing,” stated Sergio Colella, managing director at Accenture.  “There is a greater demand to integrate product and service development processes across disciplines from innovation to manufacturing, supply chain and customer service. With the combined capabilities of PCO Innovation and Accenture, we improve our ability to address this fast-growing market which is core to our clients as they build their future offerings.”

Accenture bought PRION Group earlier this year, which is another company that specializes in PLM delivery services.  By adding PRION Group’s capabilities and skills with PCO Innovation’s professionals, Accenture expanded the ability to help automotive, aerospace, defense, consumer goods, and other industry clients required for delivering products to customers quickly.

“Having established PCO Innovation as a leading independent PLM group, we are pleased to be creating a market leader for end-to-end PLM services with Accenture, offering our clients an unparalleled set of solutions and services,” stated PCO Innovation CEO Etienne Borgeat.
