Acer C720 Chromebook: $249, 11.6-Inch Screen, 8.5-Hour Battery Life, 16GB SSD

Acer has announced the new C720 Chromebook computer series today.  The C720 is available for pre-order from and Best Buy.  The first model in the series is the C720-800, which costs $249.99 in the U.S.

The C720 Chromebook has an 11.6-inch display, 1366×768 screen resolution, 2.76 pound weight, 8.5 hours of battery life, Intel Celeron 2955U processor, 4GB of DDR3L memory, and 16GB SSD hard drive.  This is the first Chromebook to be powered with the Intel Haswell micro-architecture.  The C720 is powered by the Chrome operating system, which contains a suite of Google products, including Google Drive, Google Docs, Google+, Gmail, etc.  The C720 does have an anti-glare display.

The base model of the C270 is WiFi only.  The C720 is 0.75 inches thick and has a full-sized keyboard.
