Adobe Wallaby Converts Flash To HTML5

Adobe Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ:ADBE) has attempted to get Adobe Flash to run on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod, but Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) did not relent. Now Adobe has created software called Wallaby that takes basic Flash files such as banner ads and converts it into HTML5, a language that works on Apple’s products.

Adobe Wallaby is an Adobe AIR program that lets you drag-and-drop your .FLA Flash file into it. The system analyzes the file and outputs HTML5 files that have the same effect. You can download Adobe Wallaby now from Adobe Labs.

Adobe Wallaby has several limitations as of right now. Currently it does not work with ActionScript instructions, but it may be supported in future Wallaby updates. Filters and blend modes also currently do not work on Wallaby. And lastly, it does not convert audio and video since HTML5 has dedicated script tags for audio and video rendering.
