The second and third largest advertising companies, respectively Omnicom and Publicis in the world, have merged. The combined company will become the world’s largest advertising company with a value of $35 billion. They will be larger than London’s WPP.
Omnicom CEO John Wren and Publicis Groupe CEO Maurice Levy will work as co-CEOs of Publicis Omnicom Groupe. The combined company will employ over 130,000 people and they have generated $23 billion in combined revenues last year. Shareholders will receive “approximately 50%” of the new company’s equity.
Agencies like BBDO, Saatchi & Saatchi, DDB, Razorfish, TBWA, Leo Burnett, Starcom MediaVest, and Big Fuel will be able to offer a comprehensive portfolio of analog and digital services.
