Cloud based TV service Aereo has delayed their launch in Chicago because they have encountered issues at their testing sites earlier this month. Chicago will be the company’s next biggest market after their hometown of New York.
“We know you?ve been disappointed about the delay. We?re disappointed too. We are working our fastest to find a solution that works. And, until we?ve found the right solution, we ask for your patience,” said Aereo in a blog post.
Aereo’s product lets users set up a small antenna to access over-the-air programming and it has a cloud-based DVR. Users can record the programming, but the big TV networks do not approve of the service. NBC, Fox, ABC, and CBS have all filed lawsuits against Aereo. The networks claim that the service violates copyright.
Aereo currently is active in New York, Boston, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Miami, Houston, and Dallas. The company has plans to expand into San Antonio, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Columbus (Ohio).
