Aereo is the popular TV streaming service where users can watch live and local TV broadcasts online. Aereo is launching in Denver next week as part of a plan to expand from New York to 22 new cities this year.
Denver has around 3.4 million broadcast consumers across 67 counties in Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming. Aereo uses tiny antennas to stream the over-the-air broadcasts to their members. Aereo is available in 8 cities right now: Boston, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, Miami, Dallas, Houston, Detroit, and New York.
Aereo recently delayed their rollout in Chicago after encountering issues with their testing site. Aereo will be expanding to San Antonio, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and Columbus in addition to the 22 planned for this year.
Aereo also allows subscribers to record content through a cloud-based DVR. Unfortunately, Aereo is being sued by media companies like CBS, ABC, FOX, and NBC.
