Posted Oct 10, 2013

Airbnb, the popular startup where users can rent out their apartments, condos, second houses, etc., has filed a motion to stop a government subpoena that is seeking information about their members.  Airbnb has been negotiating with the Attorney General’s office over the last several weeks and they want to help the city of New York “weed out bad actors” and collect hotel taxes.  Airbnb said that the subpoena for user information is a ?government-sponsored fishing expedition.?  You can red the motion on the Airbnb blog post.
