Amazon.com accidentally sent e-mails to Chromecast buyers that their orders have been delayed extensively. Amazon’s e-mail said that buyers would not receive their Chromecast device until late October. The e-mail said that delivery estimates said that the Chromecast would not be delivered until October 17-October 30th. Amazon is going to send e-mails to buyers with updated shipping information now.
“We are actively fulfilling orders and all customers who placed orders prior to August 7 should receive their orders in the coming weeks,” stated an Amazon spokesman in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
When Google announced the Chromecast with the Netflix deal, it sold out right away. The Chromecast is a $35 device that plugs into the HDMI port of a TV set, which can be used from streaming content from multiple devices. If you order the Chromecast from Amazon today, it will take between 2-3 months to receive the device.
