Amazon Is Launching Alpha House and Betas On Instant Video On November 15th

Posted Nov 4, 2013

Amazon is launching two original shows on the Amazon Instant Video on-demand streaming service.  The two shows are Alpha House and Betas.  Alpha House is a comedy show about four U.S. senators that are living in a rented house together in Washington D.C.  Betas is a show about four friends that are launching a mobile social networking application in Silicon Valley.  Alpha House is starting on November 15th and betas is starting on November 22nd.  Alpha House stars John Goodman and Mark Consuelos.  Betas stars Joe Dinicol and Karan Soni.

Instead of releasing every episode in the seasons at once like Netflix did with House of Cards and Orange Is The New Black, Amazon set up a traditional release schedule.  Just the first three episodes of each show will be available on Amazon Instant Video first.  The remainder of the episodes will be released every week for Amazon Prime subscribers.

Alpha House and Betas was pitched by Amazon Studios along 12 other pilot episodes in April this year.  The two shows were confirmed in May along with Annebots, Creative Galaxy, and Tumblead.  The other 3 shows are targeted at children.
