Amazon.com has launched an Instant Video app for the Nintendo Wii U. The Amazon Instant Video app for the Nintendo Wii U home console gives customers easier access to over 140,000 movies and TV episodes available to purchase or rent from the Amazon Instant Video library.
The app gives Amazon Prime customers access to more than 30,000 movies and TV episodes to stream at no additional cost. The movies and TV episodes can be browsed and watched on either the TV screen or the Wii U GamePad.
Amazon.com is the third video subscription service to be added to the Nintendo Wii U after Netflix and Hulu Plus.
?We?re constantly working to create the best streaming video experience for our customers, and to do that it?s essential to provide access on as many devices as possible,? stated Amazon.com’s Vice President of Worldwide Digital Video Anthony Bay. ?The Amazon Instant Video app on Wii U gives customers more ways to enjoy video in the comfort of their home. The Second Screen Experience lets customers browse, search and even play movies or TV directly on the GamePad controller. In addition, new features in the app allow kids and parents to easily discover family-friendly programming for all age groups.?
