Last year, Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) announced that it was partnering with the United States Postal Service (USPS) to have packages delivered to New York and L.A. on Sundays.
This service proved to be popular so it is being expanded to 15 more cities: Austin, College Station, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, TX; Cincinnati and Columbus, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Lexington and Louisville, KY; New Orleans and Shreveport, LA; Oklahoma City, OK and Philadelphia, PA.
Amazon has been keeping track of Sunday deliveries as well to see which items consumers are most likely to have delivered over the weekend. Amazon closely monitored the types of items that consumers most likely have delivered over the weekend. The most common items include baby supplies, books and toys.
