Amazon.com Launches Kindle Book Lending

Posted Jan 3, 2011

Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has launched a new service called Kindle Book Lending. The Kindle Book Lending feature lets Kindle owners share e-books with friends and family members. This feature is currently only available on Amazon.com.

To share e-books, click on the “Loan this book” button next to the title of the bought books section or on the product pages within Amazon.com. Due to rights issues, only certain titles are available for lending.

After sending a book to a friend, they have 14 days to read it before the loan period cuts off. The friends and family members who received a shared book do not need to own a Kindle. They can read the e-book on a PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, BlackBerry etc. You can learn more information here: www.amazon.com/kindle-lending.
