, Inc. (AMZN) workers in Germany to go on strike

Posted Dec 16, 2013, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) will soon have to deal with a strike in Germany. The Verdi union is planning to go on strike at logistics centers in Bad Hersfeld, Leipzig, and Graben. A group of German workers will also be protesting at Amazon headquarters in Seattle and will be helped by U.S. workers unions.

The German union organized short strikes this year to try and force Amazon to accept collective bargaining agreements in the mail order and retail industry as benchmarks for workers’ pay at distribution centers in Germany. is maintaining their position that they regard staff at their centers in Bad Hersfeld and Leipzig as logistics workers that receive above-average pay by industry standards., Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has around 9,000 employees in Germany.
