Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMZN) has bought video gaming studio Double Helix Games. This deal was for talent and intellectual property. The financial terms of this deal was undisclosed.
Double Helix Games was founded in 2007 after two gaming companies merged: Collective, Inc. and Shiny Entertainment. Double Helix employs 75 people that will become Amazon employees. Double Helix is known for creating the Killer Instinct and Earthworm Jim franchise.
“Amazon has acquired Double Helix as part of our ongoing commitment to build innovative games for customers,” said Amazon in a statement.
