Amazon Fires Hensel European Security Services For Mistreating Workers

Posted Feb 18, 2013 has fired a security company called Hensel European Security Services after conducting an investigation into the company.  Apparently Hensel was accused of ties to neo-nazism and was known for harassing temporary workers.

Amazon terminated their relationship with Hensel effective immediately.  A spokesperson with Amazon Germany said that the company has a “zero tolerance limit for discrimination and intimidation.”

The investigation was triggered by a German TV documentary that showed the mistreatment of temporary workers at one of the Amazon warehouses.  One of the complaints was that workers had to come in for 15 consecutive days without overtime compensation.  The show aired footage of security officers with the German far-right neo-Nazi movement.
