Amazon.com, Inc. (NASDAQ:AMZN) has plans to hire over 2,500 full-time workers at their fulfillment centers in the U.S. Amazon said that the jobs are going to be filled in Chester, Virginia; Petersburg, Virginia.; Coffeyville, Kansas; Columbia, South Carolina; Dupont, Washington; and Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
Last year, Amazon hired over 20,000 people at their fulfillment centers with over half of them starting as seasonal workers. The media income for people that work at their order-fulfillment centers are higher than at traditional retailers.
By the end of 2013, Amazon.com had around 117,300 full-time and part-time employees listed in a regulatory filing.
