Jeff Bezos (Amazon.com) and Elon Musk (Tesla Motors / SpaceX) have gotten into a bidding war to buy the NASA Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Complex 39A, according to CNBC.  This is where the first and last space shuttle blasted off.  Musk wants the launchpad for his space company SpaceX and Bezos wants it for his space company Blue Origin.  Both companies want 39A to launch their unmanned missions and shuttles carrying commercial customers along with astronaut crews into outer space.  Bezos also wants to use the facility for other companies to launch their rockets at a price.  NASA is not disclosing the amounts involved in the bids.
