Advanced Micro Devices has announced the world’s fastest graphics card, which is known as the Radeon HD 7990.  The 7990 has double the power of the Radeon HD 7970 and four times more powerful than the GPU in the PlayStation 4.  The 7990 is based on the AMD Graphics Core Next (GCN) architecture with AMD Eyefinity technology.  The 7990 makes the ability to play the latest DirectX 11 games in extreme resolutions and multi-monitor configurations a smooth experience.

“If you crave the ultimate in PC gaming, the clear and commanding choice is the Radeon HD 7990 graphics card. No other graphics card on the market measures up to the unparalleled gaming experience it delivers, and it comes with eight AAA game titles optimized for AMD Radeon award-winning GCN architecture,” stated AMD corporate vice president and general manager of the Graphics Business Unit Matt Skynner. “Once again, AMD shatters the industry benchmark for state-of-the-art graphics technology.”

The 7990 has 6GB of GDDR5 memory and supports up to six simultaneous displays with AMD’s Eyefinity technology.  It is the ideal card for Ultra HD displays (4K resolution).  The retail price of the 7990 is $999.
