Anaheim Union High School District Tracking Absentee Students With GPS

Posted Feb 21, 2011

If you are a student that misses classes often at the Anaheim Union High School District, then you might be recommended to be tracked using a GPS. The Anaheim Union High School District is handing out GPS trackers to seventh and eight graders through a six week pilot program. If the student has 4 unexcused absences from school, your parents can volunteer to have you use a tracker. The student will need to enter a code five times per day in order to “check-in” at school. The student will also have to receive 3 phone calls per day from a coach. The school hopes that this will prevent students from joining gangs. [OC Register]
