Analysts: Microsoft To Sell Around 500,000-600,000 Surface Tablets In Q4 2012 Because Of Poor Distribution

Posted Dec 6, 2012

Even though Microsoft was expecting to sell between 2 and 4 million Surface RT tablets in Q4 2012, analysts are expecting that between 500,000 and 600,000 have been sold.  One of the biggest factors going against Microsoft is poor distribution.  The tablet is being sold online and in Microsoft’s few retail stores.  Microsoft is also selling the tablet at a high price of $499.  Apple is selling the iPad Mini at $375 and there are a number of Android tablets that are selling for under $100 for the holidays.  There are currently around 31 Microsoft stores.
